Mu Dah and her husband Pah Kyar spent nine years living in three different refugee camps in Thailand with their children. Finally, in 2011, they got the news they had been waiting for: they’d been granted refugee status and would be resettled in Jacksonville, FL by Lutheran Social Services. The Florida Times-Union’s reporter Tiffanie Reynolds told Mu Dah and Pah Kyar’s story in yesterday’s paper. Mu Dah’s dreams for her family have now come true: she’s working, her children are enrolled in school, one is preparing for college, and the family recently purchased a home.
