A new financial and career coaching opportunity is coming to the Arlington community through a new partnership with Lutheran Social Services (LSS), Generation USA CLIMB, Revitalize Arlington and The Community Foundation of Northeast Florida.
The goal of the partnership is to maximize financial stability and stimulate economic growth for the Arlington community. Steps 2 Success Arlington is a six-month initiative that will provide Arlington residents free financial and career coaching.
“As an organization, we believe in the power of community partnerships,’ Rocena Diogene, Revitalize Arlington Youth and Community Programs manager said. “Our ultimate goal for the Arlington area is to bring resources to the need. Working with Generation’s CLIMB and Steps 2 Success helps us do just that; resourcing areas that are otherwise without access to services that aid with enhancing the quality of one’s life.”
Participants will learn practical tools to earn a livable wage, enroll into school, build up savings, pay down debt, and increase credit score through 1:1 coaching, accountability, and connection to resources.
S2S is Jacksonville’s first financial opportunity center (FOCs), which is located in the New Town Success Zone. FOCs offer a holistic approach to financial well-being, and there are currently more than 100 across the country.
“This partnership echoes how important it is for agencies to collaborate and bring resources to the community,” Steps 2 Success Director Michelle Hughes said. “It is my desire for Steps 2 Success to assist interested families in creating a Generation Wealth plan.”
The initiative launches with informational sessions, starting Saturday, May 14th at Impact Church (9501 Arlington Expressway Suite 245) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Interested residents can learn how to enroll and start a plan for their family and future.
“The partnership between the organizations involved speaks to the core of our aligned missions and vision to impact and equip under resourced communities to flourish beyond their circumstances,” Maya Francis, CLIMB Community Coordinator, said.
In addition, residents can also attend informational sessions on the second Saturday of each month from May to October. If you or your organization are interested in sharing resources during sessions, please complete the following form: https://forms.gle/AmVhijSFTbc4KUmM9.
