ACE Client Bravely Shares Her Story on World AIDS Day
Last night on First Coast News, a very brave woman told her story to help and educate others. “Windi,” a client of our AIDS Care and Education (ACE) program, is a married mother of three, a registered nurse, and also has AIDS. She has experienced discrimination and cruelty as a result of her status. But she was still willing to share her story in a two-part segment that aired last night to shine a light on the misunderstanding that still surrounds HIV and AIDS. Watch it – I guarantee you’ll be moved.
Along with Windi’s story, Heather Vaughan and Armando Falcon of our ACE team answered anonymous questions about HIV/AIDS in a live chat on the First Coast News website. It was a great opportunity to connect with the community and provide information. Of course, our ACE team is always happy to answer questions about HIV/AIDS and available services – just call 904-448-5995 and ask for the ACE department.
