David was born in Detroit, Michigan, and moved around the mid-west a few times before his family finally settled in South Bend, Indiana.
After high school, David traveled to Gainesville, FL to become a Florida gator.
David graduated with his Bachelors of Science in business administration from the University of Florida. Go Gators!
While David attended UF, he started working for Simkin, Inc., which is a clinical pharmacy software and service company. After successfully selling Simkin, Inc. in May 2000, David relocated to Jacksonville where he assisted in launching Availity, LLC. In turn, Availity became one of the largest health information network companies in the United States.
Entrepreneurship runs in David’s family as his parents purchased Henco Enterprises in 1981 which manufactured aircraft components and for major aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing, McDonald Douglas, and Airbus. His parents pivoted the company into the medical prosthesis, where the first titanium hip and knee joints were developed and sold worldwide by Bristol Myers Squibb and Zimmer.
David purchased Beaches Car Wash in 2016 with locations in Jacksonville Beach and St. Nicholas.
He is married and has a wonderful son.
David is a proud supporter and advocate for LSS and we are very grateful to have him on our board. “I have had the opportunity to see the organization grow its services, expand its network of partners, better serve our community, and achieve financial stability to continue to do the great work they do.”
Thank you for all that you do!
