Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida invites the First Coast community to attend the 31st Annual Empty Bowls Luncheon on Nov. 17. The luncheon aims to raise awareness of the hunger problem in Northeast Florida and to encourage community members to join the nonprofit in helping struggling families.
We're now in the midst of the largest refugee crisis since World War II. About 50 percent Syria’s pre-war population of 23 million are either listed as refugees with the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees or displaced within the country and trying to get out now. Countries across the world are stepping up to help.
